Indigenous Network+ is Creating Opportunities
Honoring history, building the future.
As we celebrate our Indigenous Network+ (IN+) Spotlight month, we’re highlighting the land, culture and identity of our members. At Synchrony, IN+ is a community of members and allies who are committed to attracting, recognizing, supporting and developing the careers of Indigenous talent at Synchrony.
Connecting Land, Culture, Identity
IN+ members connect with each other and their heritage by sharing their stories, learning about Indigenous history, and the wide variety of Indigenous cultures that exist. By recognizing the intersection between land, culture and identity, members can rewrite harmful narratives, get the support they need and create a brighter, more connected future. “IN+ gave me an opportunity to connect with my heritage and feel more connected while working from home,” says Tania Rounds, Senior Specialist, Customer Solutions.
Culture of Support
Through a supportive network, educational material and community events, IN+ is providing members with a sense of belonging and the opportunity to reach their career aspirations. Whether it’s a local Pow Wow, a career workshops or cultural education like the IN+Cast podcast, IN+ is empowering members and creating tomorrow’s proud Indigenous leaders. “Engaging in the network has made me even more proud to be Native American. In the network, we all embrace and support one another,” says Ignacio Bejarano, AVP, Bilingual Customer Service.
Giving Back
IN+ supports and guides Synchrony’s commitment to social responsibility for Indigenous peoples. IN+ has helped direct more than $900,000 of funding toward Indigenous advancement, focusing especially on education and business leadership. Through partnerships with American Indigenous Business Leaders, the American Indian College Fund, Oglala Lakota College and more, IN+ is uplifting Indigenous culture and creating opportunities for Indigenous talent.
