EnAbled+ is making an impact
Empowering Ability
This month, we’re celebrating our EnAbled+ Network (EN+)! With more than 3,000 members, our employees are making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities and caretakers through education, advocacy, initiatives and events. This year’s theme of Empowering Ability encourages us to support a more inclusive and accessible world.
Throughout the month, EN+ is fostering important conversations about how disability affects everyone differently and how we can work together to uplift our colleagues. Events and programs like Career Pathing Sessions, Panel Discussions and a global Town Hall are forums where we can share our stories and appreciate new perspectives.
Formerly known as the People with Disabilities Network+, EnAbled+’s name change signifies our commitment to an inclusive culture that enables everyone to be valued for their abilities and reach their full potential. EN+ works to support members with disabilities and provides activities and educational opportunities that encourage looking beyond disabilities to focus on abilities and possibilities.
EN+ is active throughout the year, helping members and allies alike through awareness events like the Polar Plunge, career development programs and strategic partnerships with organizations that align with our values, like the UConn Center for Neurodiversity and Employment Innovation and Pacer’s Bullying Prevention Center. Meanwhile, benefits like flexible working, backup childcare and our Employee Assistance Program help our people meet their unique needs.
EN+ members work hard to advocate for themselves and others. Josh Crafford, VP, Technology Learning and Development, produced a short film called “Blessed with Dyslexia and Neurodiversity”, which explores the differences stemming from his dyslexia and the strengths he’s discovered because of it. The film celebrates the diverse thought, creativity and innovation that neurodiversity can bring to the workplace.
Our Enabled+ Network is a key strategic partner for Synchrony, helping us to maintain a 100% score on Disability Equality Index (DEI)for seven years in a row. We’re proud to be an organization that welcomes and supports people of all abilities and celebrates their strengths.
