Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Strategic Supplier DevOps Lead is responsible for designing, creating and maintaining incident and change management processes, development and release management operations relating to the Fiserv Technology (Credit) and Production relationship. The Strategic Supplier DevOps Function devises incident detection and management strategies working with our largest third party supplier, Fiserv. The role requires 24 x 7 on call availability. The Strategic Supplier DevOps Function manages and priorities development requests of Fiserv as well as Release management activities for Fiserv initiated changes. The VP, Strategic Supplier DevOps Lead will have extensive knowledge of Fiserv products and services and how they are integrated into SYF’s environments and be well versed in the software development lifecycle and Agile.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership to define the Fiserv roadmap and strategy for functionality  within the Fiserv environment. 

  • Knowledgeable about SYF’s relationship with Fiserv and Fiserv services we procure.

  • Manage team providing 24 x 7 incident on call, and available for escalation as needed.   

  • Lead a team responsible for incident management, knowledge about Service Now is required.

  • Lead a team responsible for Fiserv application ownership, knowledgeable about CMDB is a must.

  • An ability to conceptualize complex ideas quickly and convey them to others in a clear, effective, and motivating manner

  • Interact cross functionally within Tech as well as broader to understand functional needs in regards to working with Fiserv. 

  • Identify improvements to processes under your purview: Fiserv incident and change management, Fiserv release management. Looking for ways to streamline and reduce risk to SYF and adapting processes as Fiserv moves to more Cloud environment.

  • Maintain and prioritize backlog of development use cases with stakeholders including product owners, scrum masters, developers, and requestors.  

  • Work in a constantly evolving environment, due to technological advances and the strategic direction of the organization. 

  • Investigate problem areas. Improve alerting at Fiserv and at SYF to identify incidents earlier to improve time to resolution

  • Design and implement monitoring, alerting and appropriate metrics to track and report performance and operational efficiency of processes. 

  • Accountable for day-to-day leadership of a team of Domain leads who specialize in Fiserv applications and how they interact with SYF environment and lead through incidents, change and development processes. 

  • Partner with VP, Metrics and Reporting lead for project forecasting and planning for upcoming cycles.

  • Mentor and coach the team 

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 3 years working in Financial Services technology; OR in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 7 years of experience in Financial Services. 

  • Experience working with vendor supplied products and services

  • Experience working with Service Now as well as working with changes and incident management

  • Experience working with software development lifecycles

Desired Characteristics:

  • Outstanding all-round communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. 

  • Experience working with Fiserv’s product and services

  • Experience working as an application owner

  •  Agile expertise 

  • Critical thinking, problem solving and creativity 

  • Experience managing a large scale supplier relationship

Grade/Level: 13

                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 – 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
