Role Summary/Purpose:

Reporting to VP, Regulatory Reporting & Compliance Application Engineering Manager, we are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to fill the role of VP, GRC Platform and Regulatory Reporting Principal Engineer. This critical position will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of Synchrony's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform, overseeing regulatory reporting and Finance/Legal and Tax SaaS platforms. The successful candidate will have a strong background in GRC, regulatory compliance, and risk management, preferably with significant experience in financial services or a related industry.

Key Responsibilities:

. GRC Platform Strategy and Implementation: Develop and execute a comprehensive GRC platform strategy, ensuring alignment with Synchrony's risk management framework and regulatory requirements.
. Regulatory Reporting: Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
. Risk Management and Compliance: Collaborate with risk management and compliance teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
. GRC Platform Maintenance and Enhancement: Ensure the GRC platform is up-to-date, secure, and compliant with regulatory requirements, identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
. Stakeholder Management: Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including risk management, compliance, audit, and technology teams, as well as external regulators and auditors.
. Talent Development and Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure team members have the necessary skills and expertise.
. Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Manage budget and resource allocation for the GRC platform and regulatory reporting functions, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with organizational objectives.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Master's / Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in a quantitative field (such as Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics) and Information Technology experience. Or in lieu of a degree 12+ years of experience in Information Technology.

• Mandatory Skill set : Experience in Application Support of GRC Platforms in a Fortune 500 company.• Minimum 7+ years’ experience with application support.

• Minimum 7+ years’ experience with application support.

• Proficient in n-tier and SaaS application and database support.

• Rigorous data analysis through SQL in Oracle and various Cloud Native technologies.

• Familiar with Splunk and Newrelic monitoring tools

• Proficient in AWS cloud environment.

• Proficient with JIRA (Agile) and Confluence tools. SaFE/JIRA Certification preferred.

• Familiar with ITIL (ServiceNow) methodology.

Desired Characteristics:

• Experience with BWise modules.

• Experience with AXIOM (Regulatory reporting) application.

• Background in Banking and Financial Services.

Work Timings: 02:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST

This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply
