Our Analytics organization comprises of data analysts who focus on enabling strategies to enhance customer and partner experience and optimize business performance through data management and development of full stack descriptive to prescriptive analytics solutions using cutting edge technologies thereby enabling business growth

Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony’s Products team is focused on building a complete ecosystem that allows for more ways to grow the book in a comprehensive manner across all channels. Synchrony’s Pay in 4 and Pay Monthly installments gives our customers the power to make purchases today and pay them off over time in predictable, equal payments. We continue to evolve our multi-product experiences from side-by-side offerings of Revolve and Installment products to multi-product prequalification to seamlessly offer our full suite of products. Our merchants/providers and consumers are also demanding financing solutions that maximize purchase conversions and we are building a streamlined multi-source financing option that would increase sales conversion. Additionally, SYF continues to scale third party mobile wallets and increase usage.

Synchrony’s Product Analytics team is responsible for providing data-driven analytic strategy solutions to drive the profitable growth of our Installment products, deliver long-term vision of Multi-Product Prequalification, continuing to test/learn how to maximize conversion and profitability across product suite and execute on incubating the next generation of consumer fintech products & capabilities. The individual is expected to manage a queue of analytical projects from start to finish and develop actionable recommendations based on findings. This will include reporting, behavioral analytics, segmentation, building proformas, forecasting, and other activities related to improving portfolio performance. This individual is expected to partner with internal stakeholders to influence and drive strategy. This role (Individual Contributor)  emphasizes data-driven storytelling through P&L financial drivers and understanding profitability dynamics. This role is a part of India Analytics Hub (IAH) and reports to Product Analytics and Consulting leader in IAH.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Generate reporting dashboards in Tableau based on product (Pay Monthly, Pay-in-4, Dual card and Cobrand), channel (POS, Digital, Unifi, other Distribution channels etc.), capability (Multi-product prequal, Multi-source Financing, Mobile Wallets) and client performance cross SYF platforms

  • Conduct wing to wing extensive analysis of performance trends and leverage predictive analytics to provide insight into growth opportunities

  • Communicate KPIs and actionable insights to stakeholders, guided by data-based storytelling

  • Support our Product Upgrade program, which includes developing targeting strategies through pro forma forecasts and financial analysis. 

  • Establish test and control strategies to measure impact of incubation initiatives by leveraging advanced analytical tools such as segmentation, and statistical models

  • Experience coordinating multiple tasks with aggressive time frames

  • Act as a trusted advisor to solve complex business problems and provide actionable recommendations based upon data driven insights

  • Identify the impact to Synchrony’s business model of implementing new products & capabilities and monitor customer behavior post-launch

  • Develop and present accurate, meaningful results on time and in a concise packaged fashion to a variety of audiences including senior leadership

  • Analyze and segment customers by behavior, level of engagement, and profitability to ensure that targeting strategies meets the needs of customers and the business

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • 4+ years of hands-on Experience in SQL /SAS with proven ability to leverage advanced algorithms and be efficient in handling complex/large data

  • 2+ years of experience in BI tools, e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Birst, etc.

  • 2+ years in marketing analytics, with a focus on customer analytics

  • 2+ years in building analytics to drive strategy with positive outcomes and measuring impact

  • Proven experience with large-scale data analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling.

  • Ability to solve complex technical and people-oriented problems with minimal supervision

  • Advanced proficiency in MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint with superior data analyses and story boarding skills

  • Strong written/oral communication & stakeholder management skills

  • Experience in storytelling, presenting to senior leaders with strong communication skills

  • Innovative mindset that looks to improve current capabilities and discover new ones

  • Deeper knowledge of latest tools, techniques and trends in data analytics and machine learning.

  • Experience working with Python and R, preferably in a Linux-based cloud environment such as AWS

  • Experience with modeling/forecasting

Eligibility Criteria:

Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 4+ years of hands-on relevant analytics/data science experience, or in lieu of a degree 6+ years of relevant analytics/data science experience.

Work Timings: This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
