Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Messaging and Orchestration Platform Owner  will serve as the owner and primary point of contact for the Synchrony Marketing’s Email, and SMS, Push and Journey Orchestration Platform[s].  This role will own platform operational efficiency, enterprise functionality and optimization while being a critical leader in the planning and development of MarTech platforms.

In addition to overseeing the email, PUSH, Journeys and SMS platform responsibility,  this role will support the vision, strategy and planning of Marketing Technology stack integrations working directly with peers to integrate Messaging, Adtech, CRM, CDP and other platforms seamlessly into a cohesive and forward-thinking technologies suite.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Be a MarTech SAAS subject matter expert and central point of contact for Email, SMS, Push, and Journey Orchestration platform driving the strategic and program vision to exceed all customer, regulatory and compliance standards.

  • Direct business requirements and translate into platform features and user-stories overseeing development and release prioritization of enhancements and changes via cross-functional teams

  • Establish and analyze platform KPI’s, monitor performance with an eye towards continuous improvement and make necessary recommendations, including technical and budgetary requirements

  • Serve as main point of integration for multiple departments to ensure email, SMS, Push, and Orchestration features effectively represent partner needs and strategies

  • Manage and direct all data and integrations between internal and external platforms including new data integrations, API and SFTP set-ups and encryption

  • Own the external supplier relationship, ensuring effective communication, roadmap strategies and product development

  • Manage all information security requirements including annual certifications and security plans

  • Maintain leading industry knowledge and continually evaluate the MarTech landscape’s products/services/opportunities to ensure best-in-class capabilities

  • Manage the overall financial health of the email and SMS platform[s], including budgeting, forecasting, and PO/Invoice management

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with focus in Marketing, Engineering and/or Computer Sciences/Information Technology OR in lieu of degree, high school diploma/GED and 8+ years of professional experience in technology, marketing or marketing technology fields

  • Professional work experience, including:

    • 8+ years leadership experience

    • 6+ years experience leading or managing Marketing Technology platforms

    • 5+ years experience directly overseeing enterprise-level email, PUSH, SMS, and/or Journey Orchestration services platforms

    • 3+ years experience in operating within SAFe agile framework in Product Owner or Product Manager role

Desired Characteristics:

  • Leadership experience within Marketing Technology and email/sms  platforms and tools, managing platform enhancements, features and infrastructure development (Zeta Marketing Platform preferred)

  • Proven success record of implementing and managing complex technology solutions in a matrixed environment.

  • Deep knowledge of email marketing, sms push and journey orchestration industry trends relating to personalization omni-channel communication strategies

  • Demonstrated understanding and command of MarTech principles and integrating Marketing Technology stacks across multiple platforms existing both internally and externally

  • Experience in Agile methodologies and processes, including Feature development, user story writing and prioritization methodologies.

  • Experience in developing and leading nascent enterprise initiatives.

  • Broad experience working with internal cross-functional partners (i.e., IT, Marketing, Operations) to ensure alignment of priorities and requirements.

  • Ability to lead and perform under aggressive timelines.

  • Proven experience synthesizing insights from structured analyses to build and inform business decisions and communicating with stakeholders in an effective manner.

  • Strong skills in leadership, communications, technology and relationship building are crucial.

  • Experience working directly with technology suppliers to oversee improvements, troubleshoot and governance.

Grade/Level: 12

                                                            

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 – 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
