Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Optis Transformation Leader is responsible for planning and execution of Fiserv’s Optis Transformation from a monolithic mainframe environment to a microservices based cloud agnostic platform. This individual will drive a cross functional team to develop the plan to define, design and implement new systems and processes in support of Fiserv’s moving the cloud environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership to identify and define how Optis Transformation will impact SYF applications and infrastructure

  • Plan, organize and lead planning sessions to define and influence business requirements and priorities

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies of aligned teams

  • Partner with Finance to manage the program budget and benefits and participate in annual budget planning cycles

  • Drive execution of workstreams aligned to Optis Transformation changes that ensure regression testing, SYF requirements are accounted for and overall safer Fiserv executions

  • Be responsible for identifying and reporting of risks and issues of the program and driving controls and resolutions through a cross functional effort

  • Be responsible for driving new controls in the new environment including resiliency, data protection, detection controls and alerting

  • Knowledgeable about SYF’s relationship with Fiserv and Fiserv services we procure 

  • Lead cross functional teams in designing and building solutions with Fiserv

  • Develop materials and present program updates to executive and cross functional stakeholders including Steering Committee and Senior Leadership

  • An ability to conceptualize complex ideas quickly and convey them to others in a clear, effective, and motivating manner

  • Gather stakeholder feedback on the program and continuously improve the program to drive improved execution

  • Work in a constantly evolving environment, due to technological advances and the strategic direction of the organization 

  • Create technical specifications and standards. Drive innovation and efficiencies in working with Fiserv

  • Work with broader tech teams to ensure their test plans are adequate to ensure safer Fiserv releases

  • Interact cross functionality with the broader team managing the relationship with Fiserv, including tech teams and supplier management teams

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 9+ years working in Financial Services technology; OR in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 12+ years of experience in Financial Services 

  • Experience working with vendor supplied products and services

  • Experience working with Service Now as well as working with changes and incident management

  • Experience working with supplier contracts

  • Experience working with Agile

Desired Characteristics:

  • Superior oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to manage expectations of key stakeholders

  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships

  • Experience working with Fiserv’s product and services

  • Proven critical thinking, problem solving and creativity skills

  • Experience managing a large scale supplier relationship

  • Independent thinker and ability to drive multiple concurrent priorities to completion without significant guidance

Grade/Level: 14

The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 – 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
