Organizational Overview:
Synchrony's Risk Team is a dynamic and innovative team dedicated to providing oversight as 2nd Line of Defense. Our Risk organization consists of 4 pillars: Compliance, Credit & Financial Risk, Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk. Each of the pillars plays a vital role in managing Risk and supports the business in anticipating and addressing risks, issues, and challenge.
This role is aligned to the Enterprise Risk Management team primarily supporting the Compliance pillar, requiring cross-functional effectiveness.
Role Summary/Purpose:
The AVP, Risk Technical Development Lead – Power Platform is an individual contributor role who is primarily responsible for driving workflow process automation, including adoption and support with the Microsoft Power Platform and related Microsoft 365 technologies. They will collaborate across all Risk Pillars to help users resolve complex problems through automation, while reducing risk and maintaining high security standards. In this role you will leverage your expertise in PowerApps to develop and maintain innovative solutions that streamline Risk processes while enhancing data intake and management with the goal of improving operational efficiency and accuracy. This role will also be responsible for becoming a functional expert, while collaborating and building relationships with US stakeholders including VP and SVP levels.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, manage, test, deploy, and maintain custom Microsoft PowerApps applications to automate various processes for 2nd Line Team

Select the most appropriate technology for a problem while minimizing risk and security concerns, driving and overseeing development through build and operations

Provide hands-on, expert-level technical assistance to citizen developers through coaching and mentorship

Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions to meet business requirements

Adhere to Agile methodologies in the ongoing support, build, and release of custom solutions

Ensures that operational documentation is updated regularly to support growing environment

Develop best practice procedures and guidelines to ensure consistent compliance to client and company procedures
-
Provide specialist guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues and end users to ensure a consistent approach
-
Collaborate with business stakeholders (i.e. Leaders from Compliance, Legal, Risk Management) to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and translate them into effective PowerApps solutions

Provide architecture, configuration, administration, and functional support for Power Platform Solutions

Develop reporting and analytics using Visual Analytics tools that can be used for committee and regulatory reporting

Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing PowerApps applications by conducting thorough testing and implementing appropriate quality control measures

Collaborate and engage with all levels of management including Senior Leaders across all sites to drive data-based process improvements, insights, thought leadership and actions

Work directly with US and India SVP's and VPs, while leading engagements and assessments

Where applicable, perform ad-hoc or deep-dive analyses to troubleshoot and enhance Data Workflows to deliver optimal results

Adapt to frequent changes in priority and requirements due to critical nature of work and ever-changing laws and regulations

Stay current and continuously upskill on the latest developments in PowerApps and other relevant technologies

Mentor junior team members on topics related to data workflows; drive adoption of best practices on the same

Participate in the Risk Engagement Strategy process that will develop and drive improvements across the Risk Team

Apply technical knowledge, industry experience, expertise, and insights to contribute to the development & maintenance of Power Platform Solutions

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Required Skills/Knowledge:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience, or in lieu of a degree 8+ years of relevant experience
-
Minimum 6+ years’ hands-on experience with low code development tool such as Microsoft PowerApps, Power Automate
-
Minimum 3+ years’ hands-on experience with Visual Analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau
-
Minimum 3+ yrs of exp in troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining and improving existing software
-
Expert in the Microsoft Power Platform to build and support automation and custom solutions
-
Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle
-
Must have excellent debugging and problem analysis skills

Analytical abilities, strong technical and communication skills

Strong written/oral communication skills

Proven ability to deliver Data/Workflow solutions for Business problems
Desired Skills/Knowledge:

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related or Business field

Certification in Microsoft PowerApps Workflow development

Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience, or in lieu of a degree 8+ years of relevant experience
Work Timings:
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
