Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Asset Liability Management (ALM) Analyst to join our ALM team. This role will be primarily responsible for preparation and review of analytics related to ALM, including but not limited to metrics under various interest rate scenarios, the financial modeling and development of assumptions related to market risk, performing trend and peer overviews.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute monthly and quarterly production process, prepare, and optimize data and inputs

  • Develop, enhance, and monitor performance of the financial models used for ALM purposes

  • Analyze and interpret model outputs, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

  • Prepare reports and analytics related to market risk metrics under various interest rate scenarios

  • Collaborate with IT and DW teams to simplify and enhance existing data retrieval processes, and support necessary analytics and reporting deliverables

  • Support capital stress testing, funding and liquidity processes, SEC filings, collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Capital, Loss Forecasting, IT

  • Ensure adherence to Synchrony’s Policy & Procedures to maintain strong process governance

  • Prepare regular reports and documentation on ALM trends, and risk reporting for ALCO/MRWG, Capital Planning, the Board of Directors, regulatory agencies, and other internal stakeholders

  • Assist with implementation of key Treasury strategic initiatives and simplification efforts

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 2-3 year of experience in treasury, finance or data analytics, preferably within consumer banking

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering on demanding deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market information.

  • Understanding of ALM principles, liquidity risk management, and banking regulations

  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and deliver creative results in a data environment.

  • Knowledge of Empyrean or other ALM software

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access and PowerPoint), Power Query and Knowledge of other programming tools such as Python, Tableau is a plus

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare clear communication and confidently present meaningful analysis to senior management level

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 – 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                 

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
