Organizational Overview: This role will be part of the Data Architecture & Analytics group part of CTO organization.

Data team is responsible for designing and developing scalable data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading(ETL).

Data team owns and manages different tools platforms which provides an environment for designing and building different data solutions.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate new data sources and ensure data quality and consistency.

Building and maintaining data models to facilitate data access and analysis by Data Scientists and Analysts.
Role Summary/Purpose: We are looking for an Ab Initio ETL developer who will be building, enhancing, testing and providing effective data solutions for the Data Warehouse applications which support key business domains. The individual will be part of a fast-paced Agile team, constantly changing and challenging work environment in Credit Technology at Synchrony.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and enhance data pipelines based on the business requirements in the Ab initio ETL tool by following the coding standards and procedures.

Perform Unit/SIT/UAT testing and work with team members to debug and evaluate the business results and work towards production implementation by coordinating with the respective release teams.

Work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, Program Manager, Scrum Masters and Team Members in a Scaled Agile framework.

Participate in the agile development process including backlog grooming, coding, code reviews, testing and deployment.

Collaborate with data engineering team members to promote Synchrony values and culture.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
-
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (such as Engineering, Computer Science) with 2+ years of Information Technology experience or in lieu of degree 4+ years of Information Technology experience.

Minimum 2+ years of financial services experience.
-
Must have knowledge on building graphs, dml functions, psets ,plans and ability to write abstracted, reusable code components in Ab initio GDE.

Must have knowledge in writing shell scripts, complex sql queries and familiar with CI-CD tools such as CloudBees and Bitbucket.

Must have basic understanding of EME and Metadata Hub and proficient with databases such as Oracle and MySQL.

Must have knowledge on the scheduling tools like StoneBranch ,Control Center or any other similar scheduling tools.

Ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships at all levels across IT and the business.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience working iteratively in a fast-paced agile environment.

Demonstrated competency linking business strategy with IT technology initiatives.

Proven track record of leading and executing on critical business initiatives on-time and within budget.

Demonstrated ability to drive change and work effectively across business and geographical boundaries.

Superior decision-making, client relationship, and vendor management skills.
Desired Skills/Knowledge:

Good to have experience working in Financial Industry or Credit processing experience.

Good to have knowledge on S3 buckets, Redshift and other AWS services.

Good understanding of SAFe methodology/working in Agile environment.
Eligibility Criteria:
-
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (such as Engineering, Computer Science) with 2+ years of Information Technology experience or in lieu of degree 4+ years of Information Technology experience.

Minimum 2+ years of financial services experience.

Hands on experience with Ab initio ETL tool and Oracle database.
Work Timings: 3 PM to 12 AM IST
(WORK TIMINGS: This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
