Organizational Overview:
Recovery team decisions actions across the lifecycle of a customer post charge off. We work towards maximizing financial return on SYF losses through powerful and proprietary insights on customers, centered on their willingness and ability to pay.
The actionable insights are driven by access to numerous data sources,new age technologies and focused strategies. Spread across all pillars in Recovery, the recovery analytics team in India caters to data management, strategic initiatives, decision making and insightful reporting, managing within the guardrails of our regulatory requirements.
Role Summary/Purpose:
This role, individual contributor will be responsible for Recovery Analytics to design and develops BI products using tableau and provide actionable insights using SQL/SAS to optimize business performance through data management which helps leaders to make better and impactful decisions and thereby enabling business growth. A successful candidate must be intellectually curious, proactive, collaborative, driven, and communicative.
Key Responsibilities:

Engage with stakeholders and key personnel across Collections and Recovery organization to solicit and gather requirements for new performance insights products, taking a holistic approach and applying best practices around data visualization and analytics.

Build multi-layer, insightful dashboards and analytics solutions to make it easy for business leaders to understand impact on collections and recovery performance.

Perform data steward functions, especially around consistency and governance. Test, troubleshoot, support, and fix BI products in development or in production. Identify process and other potential improvements and raise the same with management.

Collaborate with Recovery Process Owners and identify downstream needs and opportunities.Educate and otherwise train users around the utilization of new performance insights products.

Provide ad hoc support in the form of functional data research, report generation, and analytical support.Support the current inventory of reports, when needed, by executing job aids and subsequently publishing the outputs.
Required Skills/Knowledge:

Bachelor's degree with minimum of 2+ years of experience between performing analytics using SAS/SQL, Python/R and building BI reports, preferably using Tableau; in lieu of a degree 4+ years of experience between performing analytics using SAS/SQL, Python/R and building BI reports, preferably using Tableau.

Minimum 2+ years of SQL/SAS experience to query, analyze and build reports

Minimum 2+ years of experience with Tableau to build data visualizations.

Minimum 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
-
Capable and influential in delivering compelling BI solutions; capable of being proactive around the same and not just reactive.Ability to propose alternative data options; recommend, drive, and implement the most efficient solutions.

Experience working with large volumes of data from multiple data sources, primarily Oracle and SQL Server; experience with PySpark or Spark to query data from Hadoop or Data Lake

Excellent communication and collaboration skills; must be able to work with and communicate across many functional organizations.

Knowledge of Credit, Collections or Financial Services systems.

Ability to think out-of-the-box and drive positive change and improvement.
Eligibility Criteria:

Work Timings: 2PM – 11PM IST
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
