Our analytics organization comprises of data analysts who focus on enabling strategies to enhance customer and partner experience and optimize business performance through data management and development of full stack descriptive to prescriptive analytics solutions using cutting edge technologies thereby enabling business growth
Role Summary/Purpose:
VP-Analytics, Home & Auto platform analytics (people manager) role is part of India Analytics Hub (IAH) and will report to H&A Platform analytics leader in IAH, and closely partner with H&A leaders in US.
The desired candidate will have to lead a 13+ member team, delivering analytical solutions & reports across the Home & Auto platform. He/She will act as the primary owner & brand ambassador for Home & Auto-India team on project delivery, quality, business impact as well as team & stakeholder management. He/she will be responsible for building & executing the vision for the India H&A team & will play a critical role in driving strategic projects & solutions, enhancing project management & promote talent development within team. To support One synchrony culture, he/she will also be responsible for building & leveraging relationships across multiple functions within Analytics to make an impact for SYF business.
The position is remote, where you have the option to work from home.
Key Responsibilities:

Co-own H&A platform analytics goals & agenda along with US H&A core, merchant, client teams.

Deliver projects, adhering to expected timelines, accuracy & compliance with meticulous project management and mentor team members on analytical, technical and functional subject matters

Initiate, design & develop reusable & scalable solutions in line with business priorities (like campaign optimization, customer segmentation, retention etc.) & best practices to drive impact for the business while strengthening routine, standard analytics competencies.

Lead strategic initiatives that are priorities for H&A platform, IAH & SYF at large.

Identify, propose, execute & implement data driven thought leadership/cross-functional projects & initiatives at H&A & IAH level to drive H&A analytics agenda/objectives & create visibility for IAH.

Ideate & create frameworks to enhance storytelling, technical, analytics & business skills of the team. Simplify technical & complex data driven insights for team’s projects into easy to understand & meaningful findings & recommendations.

Create a culture of exploring latest Tools and Techniques in the Industry and leveraging them for portfolio growth.

Maintain documentation of all tools and solutions to drive clarity on processes/definitions as well as knowledge retention

Actively engage & collaborate with various stakeholders (US analytics, India LT, marketing teams) to deliver on their business goals & priorities.

Develop & Own the hiring strategy for H&A to not only cater to current goals of H&A but also hire for future skillsets, needs & vision for H&A platform

Deliver on people management responsibilities including team planning, hiring, performance evaluation and career guidance. Facilitate professional growth through development of short term, long term goals & focus areas

Share learnings and capabilities with broader analytics community and play an instrumental role in developing use cases to showcase IAH capabilities.

Lead internal initiatives, perform other duties and/or special projects, as assigned

Be a hands-on leader and be able to roll-up sleeves to lead projects, perform data analysis
Required Skills/Knowledge :
-
8+ years in building analytics to drive strategy with positive outcomes and measuring impact
-
8+ years of hands-on Experience in SQL /SAS with proven ability to leverage advanced algorithms and be efficient in handling complex/large data.

3+ years of experience in BI tools, e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Birst, etc.
-
5+ years in marketing analytics, with a focus on campaign measurement and optimization
-
Minimum 5+ years of experience in managing teams with ability to motivate team, drive change, create a culture of learning, innovation and recognition
-
Strategic thinker; makes appropriate business decisions through analysis and collaboration with others.

Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meeting business goals

Ability to solve complex technical and people-oriented problems with minimal supervision

Advanced proficiency in MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint with superior data analyses and story boarding skills

Strong grasp of business aspects (like financial P&L drivers, credit card dynamics etc.), demonstrated through seamless delivery on own & team's projects

Strong written/oral communication & stakeholder management skills

Eligibility Criteria:
-
Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 10+ years of hands-on relevant analytics/data science experience, or in lieu of a degree 12+ years of relevant analytics/data science experience.

Work Timings: 02:00 PM to 11:00 PM (IST)
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams.
The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs. Please discuss this with the hiring manager for more details.
