Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

As the VP of Digital Marketing, you will bring an entrepreneurial mindset managing the digital offering as part of a broader digital marketing team. This individual will meet with internal stakeholders and external clients to understand digital marketing requirements and identify areas for digital to add value. You will serve as the bridge between paid media capabilities and campaign execution, ensuring proper use of audiences, data and tech to drive business impact. This role sits on the Paid Media Strategy team and will work closely with agency partners (internal and external) as well as strategic partners like LiveRamp, DoubleVerify and Google. This role will be a champion of site optimization, owning both the scorecard and diagnostic, delivering media and measurement ensuring site improvements and campaigns have identified KPI’s and are measured in a timely manner for strong optimization leading to business growth. 

The VP, Digital Marketing will be a commercially minded with an analytic lens who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities  

  • Leverage and build upon the Digital Diagnostic to deliver digital playbooks working closely with internal stakeholders and digital teams within Synchrony Financial to deliver targeted and engaging recommendations to B2C and B2B customers through channels, identifying customer contact points and journeys on property and off. 

  • Work closely with the Digital teams across Platforms to ensure digital media, Content, SEO and Social Media are optimized and delivering against both volume and value target. 

  • Subject matter expert in how 1st party data can be leveraged within each digital channel (programmatic, paid search, paid social) to ensure goals can be met across channels Support Acquisition and Lifecycle campaign leads in ensuring proper audiences within media channels 

  • Ensure measurement plans are created prior to campaign launch, ensuring KPIs match business goals and forecasts are attainable 

  • Expert in campaign measurement to be able to navigate multiple channels and ensure no campaigns go live without back-end measurement 

  • Collaborate with agencies and digital analytics to ensure timely delivery of measurement for reporting and optimization 

  • Support VP, Media in delivering and developing enterprise-wide Quarterly Business Reviews, by engaging with platform teams, agencies and analytics to deliver clear business impact story 

  • Develop case studies and scale best practices  

  • Increase adoption of Demand Gen across the enterprise 

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/ Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree, or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 10 years of professional work experience in the consumer marketing field 

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant marketing strategy and/or customer and relationship management experience 

  • A minimum of 5 years in media data and audience activation (can be concurrent with marketing experience) 

  • Hands-on experience with digital marketing (on-property and off), social media and/or email execution 

  • Expertise in online marketing metrics and key performance metrics that drive business results 

  • Proven success in managing multiple campaigns and delivering business goals 

Desired Characteristics: 

  • Consumer-first mentality 

  • Marketing experience in retail, credit card or financial services 

  • Advanced degree from an accredited university or college; preferably in Marketing or Digital Communications 

  • Strong collaborator and influencing  

 

Grade/Level: 12

                                                            

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 – 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
