Empowerment Station Leader
I’m only successful if my team is successful.
I started at Synchrony as a Collections Representative. Now I lead the Empowerment Station, a co-located cross-functional team of 12 people from Collections, Fraud and Customer Service. We work together to identify areas of opportunity for the company—things like process changes, training opportunities and work station enhancements.
Status quo, you’ve been challenged.
Just because something’s always been done a certain way doesn’t mean we can’t do it differently and better. That’s what my team sets out to accomplish every day. We’re helped along the way by our senior leaders. Even just a casual conversation with them is helpful—walking down the hall or grabbing coffee: the mentors here provide insight, inspiration and lessons they’ve learned. Our leaders listen and help push me in the direction I want to go. In fact, Synchrony paid for my entire MBA.
I want to take what I’ve learned and use it.
Synchrony challenges me and makes me step outside my comfort zone. That’s one of the reasons I work here: I love to grow and learn. I studied Chinese, German and Japanese in college. I want to actually go to those countries and explore—just like I’m doing in my own career.
